How it works
It replaces the dust pan.
A VacPort sits low in the toe kick or baseboard. Everything you sweep goes down the pipe to your central vacuum, not back into the room from a dust pan.

Open the door
Tip it open with your toe. The vacuum starts, and on LED models the light comes on across the floor in front of the port.

Sweep it in
Broom the pile straight into the opening. Crumbs, dust, hair, cat litter, sand. No bending, no dust pan, no hose.

Close it
Close the door and the vacuum stops. The dirt is already in your central vacuum's bag.
Why it lasts
No springs. Nothing to snap.
If you have replaced a sweep port before, you already know the part that gave out. On a spring-lever dustpan the toe lever and its spring flex every single time someone uses it, and repair kits for that lever and spring are sold across the industry.
The VacPort is built differently. There is no spring anywhere in it: the door swings on a coated steel rod, it closes against a foam seal, and two small magnets hold it open while you sweep. Open the door and the vacuum starts. The housing, door and bridge are PC/ABS, and every VacPort carries a 2-year warranty.

Pull the old one. The trim plate covers the hole.
The A-900-X and A-910-X come with a trim plate that screws on through the old dust pan's holes and covers the old opening, so you are not patching drywall or buying a new toe kick.

Questions
What is a VacPort?
A sweep-in door set at floor level in a kitchen toe kick or a baseboard, tied into your central vacuum pipe. Open the door and the vacuum starts. Sweep the dirt in and it goes down the pipe to the central vacuum's bag. It takes the place of a dust pan.
Why do other sweep ports keep breaking?
Most toe-kick dustpans start the vacuum with a spring-loaded lever you press with your foot. That lever and spring flex every time you use it, and they are sold as a repair kit for a reason. On a VacPort you open the door and two small magnets hold it open. A VacPort has no springs at all.
Will it fit my central vacuum?
Almost certainly. A VacPort works with most central vacuum brands that start from a 24V low-voltage circuit, AC or DC. It does not work with OVO systems. See the compatibility page.
My old port left a bigger hole. Will a VacPort cover it?
Yes. The A-900-X and A-910-X come with a trim plate made for it: it screws on through the old dust pan's holes, you trace inside it and cut to the line, and it covers the old opening. The VacPort opening is 6-1/8 in. wide by 2-1/2 in. high. See the replacement guide.
Does the hose plug into a VacPort?
No. Nothing plugs into the front. The pipe or installation hose connects to the back of it. Your hose goes into an inlet valve, which is a different part. Most homes have both on the same pipe system.
Where can I put one?
Anywhere you sweep: kitchen toe kicks, bathroom vanities, laundry and mud rooms, garages, workshops, salons, pet areas, RVs and boats. If a central vacuum pipe can reach it, a VacPort can go there.
